Pyrite is iron sulfide — FeS₂ — formed in oxygen-starved environments: ancient seafloors, buried sediment, hydrothermal vents. Its name comes from the Greek pyr, meaning fire, because it sparks when struck against metal. It spent centuries being dismissed as fool's gold. But pyrite and gold form in exactly the same conditions. It was never an imposter. It was always itself.
Unstructured 6-panel cotton twill cap, low profile, washed-out vintage finish. PYRITE embroidered on the front panel. Metal snap closure with antique brass finish. Made to order.
